How will my child’s progression be reported?
At Seahorse Swim School, we recognise that every child is unique. Our teachers carefully assess each swimmer using the criteria from our Splash Awards programme. To achieve an award, all criteria must be demonstrated to a consistently high standard.
In addition to skill-based awards, we also offer distance badges ranging from 5m to 1500m. Badges and certificates are awarded at the end of each term—completely free of charge.
Teachers provide half-term progress reports, available upon request, outlining your swimmer’s development and their journey toward the next award. If your child is not yet ready for their next badge, you’ll receive a written report detailing the specific criteria they’re still working on.
If you ever have questions about your child’s progress, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—we’re always happy to help.

We teach from a range of pools, each varying in depth and size. While we always aim to place swimmers at a location that works well logistically, your child’s safety and progress come first. If we feel a particular pool isn't best suited to their ability or confidence level, we’ll let you know and recommend the most suitable venues to ensure the best learning experience.
